Really?

When you say someone is pretty, what you actually mean is that she has good genes. Maybe it has something to do with the main purpose of human beings doing sex, which is successful procreation. That’s why we unconsciously pick someone who is healthy enough to bear the offspring, and the mathematical formulas of our body structure explain how healthy we are. Even though the sense of beauty is very subjective and depends on the considerations of each individuals, however, there’s somehow a “standard” for someone to be called beautiful, and this is what the experts call golden structure. This golden structure will put someone pretty to the score 6, so whoever has a face structure close to the golden structure, she’ll be considered as beautiful. Cleopatra made 6,8.

Does it mean the ones who got 2 or 3 should be considered as ugly? Haha.. I ain’t gonna answer that dangerously tricky question. But it will be a bit more difficult to get those who are in 4 more, I can assure you. Due to the research of mating in real life done by Prof. Doug Kenrick from ArizonaStateUniversity, it’s predictable that the dummy spouses made didn’t have too much gap in each score. The level 2 got the level 1 till 3, the level 4 got the level 3 till 5, and so on. For those who—seem to—get lower than 4, chill out, I’ll tell you some secret of doing the stuffs right.

Women want someone who has higher status and power to protect, while men prefer someone who looks “healthy”. Woman’s breasts, for example, are signals she has passed puberty and is ready to produce. And to be noted, in choosing mates, it’s proven that women are so much pickier than men. Why?

The sexual agenda is the answer. Sex is riskier for women than for men. Women would face the nine-month pregnancy and years of child care, they expect good genes and lots of money from their partners, of course, to provide what they would need when they bear their children. Let me put it this way, when you go out to get something to eat and you have to pay $500, you’ll expect something cost-worthy, but if you just have to spend $5 for what you eat, you won’t be too busy bothering the quality of the food. “From the perspective of evolution, all the mammalian males have the option of a $5 dinner, females do not,” stated Prof. Kenrick. This is the reason why women are more likely to change their perceptions about someone who has status and power, rather than just looking at the cover of the book.

Voices and smells are quite essential as well. As you know, men prefer women who sound more feminine, women prefer men who sound more masculine. No doubt about it, but what about the smells? Women have something called copulance, which is the pheromones released by women, especially during copulation and have an odor likened to rancid butter. Usually men can decide if a woman is pretty or not just by looking at her physical appearance, but this female copulance can actually “rob” the ability of deciding which woman is prettier than others. So you might wanna make this into a business; selling copulance-based fragrances for women (I’m not kidding, I think we need those kinds of things HAHAHA). And for men, unfortunately, some women hate men’s body odor—unless it includes high levels of testosterone—especially when it stinks. The best tips from me are just stay clean, take your bath, and use deodorants.
