Don’t Close Your Eyes, Don’t Close Your Mind (Peta Fariza Aruna)

Let me share what i thought about homosexuality

They are everywhere..

they are human being, they are alive, and they have mind.

But, who are they? are they different with us (who assume ourself as a heterosexual)? are they sinner?

people who think homosexual are different or sinner or anything it is, they’re just haven’t open their eyes and their mind. Hey, be realistic.. we share the same air, we step on the same surface, even we share the beauty of this planet. So, why should we discriminate each other?

There are many reasons why people turns to be gay. Maybe because of the parenting style, traumatic event, genetic, lifestyle, or maybe influence from environment.

Lets see my experience about this, but i’ll sensor a bit here and there to keep the appropriateness. here we go..

Many years ago i had an opportunity to studied overseas. Actually, this country’s culture is not a new thing for me. i learned a lot about it before i live there, but you’ll now the best when you’re live in it, right? as long as i lived there, there’re many new things that i learned— from the most important until the least important. So, there is a piece of story that really common in our university back then. As i know, dividing between girls and boys university’s building is very common in that country. No boys allowed come in to the girls building and vice versa. There are many reasons why this rule is applied in this country that i can’t mention one by one. Ironically, many girls in the university were caught as a lesbian.

as a psychology student what do you think about the piece of story above? what’s wrong with the girls?

in my opinion, because of the strict rule they had to obey for a very long time, they choose  to have a relationship with the same sex. what they know mostly only about girls and girls. They don’t have a chance to know boys, to learn about human beings named boys, to get attached to boys. Maybe the only boys they ever know only her family. Besides, maybe they could feel comfort with the same sex that they have never experience it with boys. However, not all girls in that country doesn’t know about boys or have a relationship with boys it depends on what are they thinking and perception.

i think homosexuality is not about right or wrong, yes or now, good or bad. it is about how react to such person. it’s not our business anyway, it’s just their business with their life and God.

Note: I haven’t do a research about the reasons why there’s so many lesbians in that place, those was just my thought as i was experiencing.
