Erotic Literature (Peta Fariza Aruna)

Have you heard about erotic literature? What actually it is about? A porn book or just an art? Well, it’s depend on your perspective.
According to the explanation from my friends in sexual behavior class, erotic literature had been around in society from a very long time ago. Earlier, many paintings in western whose done by famous artists showed a touch of erotic. Interestingly, these painting showed in the church or chapel. However, gradually this action complained by some of the savants and religious leaders. Thus, they made books about pornography to explained the negative effect from it.
Since 16th century, these strikes to banned pornography already started, so that in early 17th century erotic books were rare. Even though those book still exist, it’s sold with very expensive prices. Different time would also be different rule. Nowadays, literature with a touch of eroticism has been developed rapidly. Magazines, novels, newspapers, even articles’s corporations as if compete in showing eroticism.
One of erotic genre literature i’ve read is Fifty Shades of Gray. This novel was quite controversial (not only in Indonesia, but also some other country), i must say. The book was telling about a guy who are amazingly wealthy, beautiful, charming, and i don’t know how describe this Mr. Grey (He’s just too perfect to be true) which has abnormalities with his sexual behavior. He does horrible things when he’s doing sex with his partner, which is “bondage”. In this book, it’s clearly explain how does it happened. The way they do foreplay, penetration, the bondage thingy, yes it was explained in detail guys.
One thing that makes me wonder is how come they want to produce the movie about this novel? wouldn’t it be so much to be censored? but well, i don’t know how they’ll package this novel into movie. hopefully, it won’t damage the youth generation.
By the way, this chapter about sexual image was the last chapter in sexual behavior class. This class give me a lot of knowledge which i hadn’t know. With many interesting chapter that explained so well from every group presentation, it just open my mind wider about the important of hygiene, happiness in life, and so many things toward sexual behavior. Not only that, in the beginning of this semester i don’t know so many kind about diseases caused by sexual relationship, but now i know the variety of them.  Different habit and culture about sexual behavior was also interesting material for me, because it’s get me to know how strange sexual behavior in each culture i’ve never thought before. Besides, the exciting class environment brought by my lecture Ms. Henny and Ms. Tasya makes me easier to understand the material and enjoy the class.
All in all, bless me on the final exam everyone.
