Stop sexual harassment! (Imelda Victoria)

What do you think about harassment?? Being touched by unknown men? Being told about sexual joke all day all time by a men? A men that whistling to you? Taking your photo silently? Or even a man that gazing to one part of your body?

Every act that intended to women body can be sexual harassment, but important to note that sexual harassment is very subjective because it depends on the women’s view. Considered as sexual harassment or not, it was depend on how that women feel after being treated like that. One women may feel so annoyed hearing a men that whistling to her, another might think it as a proof of their popularity, or another might feel it was common for a men whistling to a women. From the men’s view, some of them might have that intention but some of that mightn’t. They might really want to touch a women’s body, but some of them maybe only out of their line. He maybe too friendly with one women, and see her as the same like their male friends. So, if we as a women encounter it, of course we must explain that we don’t like it clearly and seriously. Being silent is wrong, because the more we encounter it the more we become stress. Report it to someone might not help too. It’s because sexual harassment is subjective. We said it is, buat another might said it wasn’t. Even the person who did it will said that he isn’t. Everyone said not, but we feel stressed being treated like that. So indeed it was sexual harassment, eventhough no one said it is. That’s why the one who can stop this is ourself. Don’t afraid that if you said it you will be hated, as long as we didn’t show any aggression such as angry or another negative emotion, it will alright. We said it only to clarify that it was annoy us and we don’t like to be treated like it. I think, better to be disliked by a men that couldn’t appreciate women than liked by them. “If we stay silent than we accept it” It was what most of people always said. Ignoring it is impossible too, so don’t worry to take action on it. Since sexual harassment may appear in any situation and condition. We should be brave on our action and find a better place to be stay.
